I've been working on a recs post and have found that my favorite stories are centered around families, found and otherwise. Here is a post full of those stories. Most of them are Bilbo/Thorin and, if they follow the quest, most are also some form of fix-it for the Battle of the Five Armies. (Also I should warn you now that I mostly read Bilbo/Thorin AND the fandom mostly writes Bilbo/Thorin, so that is mostly what I will be recommending.)
