Festivids 2020: Dear vidder
Dear Festivids vidder,
I’m excited we matched, because I am very into all of these sources! Thanks for making me a vid to one of them <3 I hope you have a great time.
I’ve tried to write a bit about why I like each fandom, my favorite characters and/or pairings, and prompts if I happen to have any. If you have a vid in mind already, though, please go for it!
General likes & dislikes
I like all sorts of vids, though I generally prefer that vids not have much voice-over dialogue. I also love all kinds of music! I don’t have any video or audio triggers.
Hamilton (2020 film) [SAFETY]
I am always interested in Hamilton-focused vids, but I’d also love to see a vid about the ensemble dancers or the staging itself; the sets, blocking, costumes, etc.
Knives Out (2019) [SAFETY]
I love this movie so much. I’m most interested in something focused on Marta, from the claustrophobia of the family turning on her to her friendship with Harlan, or anything else!
Salt Fat Acid Heat (2018)
I learned so much from this documentary and from Samin’s book. I love how easily she relates to people and how they shared their knowledge with her. And, of course, it’s absolutely gorgeous.
Taskmaster (UK TV)
I haven’t seen past series 4 yet, but I am inhaling this lately. Please feel free to use footage from any of the series! I’m fascinated by Alan and Greg’s relationship and the often bizarre approaches the contestants have to challenges. I’m frustrated by the apparent quota on the number of women or POC who can compete in any given series.
天官赐福 | Heaven Official's Blessing (Cartoon)
This one is a bit hard to write about since it's not out yet! But I love the novel dearly and everything I've seen about the donghua so far looks amazing. I’m most interested in something focused on Hua Cheng, Xie Lian, or their relationship.
李子柒 | LiZiqi (YouTube Channel)
Li Ziqi’s videos are so beautiful and soothing to me. I would love a vid that focused on the visuals; the food, omg the food; the gorgeous setting; the act of creation itself; or the (admittedly limited) evidence of the difficulty of everything she accomplishes.
